Something something something vlog.

I went to lunch with my friend Kyle on Friday.  We get together once or twice a year, and every time we say “we need to do this more often” but we never do.  If that’s not a clear case of lifegetsintheway, I don’t know what is.

And Friday night?  Sarah and I couldn’t get the TV to work – we were trying to watch Dead Poets Society and the TV wasn’t recognizing the DVD player or the Wii.  We had to have our upstairs neighbor come check it out, and of course when he touched it the stupid thing started working immediately.

This weekend went by pretty fast.  I vlogged about some of it.

I think I have a second chin, which is disgusting.  I say ‘um’ and ‘oh’ a lot.  I need to get better at making videos.

But in other news, Walter just told me “you are awesome in every way”.  And so my day has been made.

How was your weekend?
Have you tried to make butterbeer before?
Got any exciting plans for this week?

The Mall {NaBloPoMo 20}

I went to the mall yesterday!  Huzzah for shopping!

I love shopping at Providence Place Mall.  It feels like it’s mine so much more than the Crystal Mall does.  I love the way it feels to walk in, like the possibilities are endless.  It feels almost magical, really.

I may have started blogging this on a notepad outside Godiva and gotten caught by Christina as she and Scott were walking up to me (read: I totally did).  She may have said “Are you blogging?” (read: first words out of her mouth).

I would like to share an observation with you.  It appears that every time we go to the mall, Christina dresses up and I dress down.  We must look like a weird pair.  Yesterday I actually wore jeans though (I usually wear comfy pants with my large t-shirt).  Christina?  Always looks cute.  Me?  Most of the time I look like a hot mess.  But ask me if I care.  Go ahead.

Im a hot mess in yesterdays everything!

I'm a hot mess in yesterday's everything!

I only spent money in three stores.  And Ben & Jerry’s.  I got two really cute hoodies at Aéropostale, a cute dress from NY & Co., and 5 books at Borders.  I only spent about TWO hours at Borders.  DO YOU KNOW HOW FANTASTIC THAT IS?!!!  The only reason I left is because it was getting dark, and I was still carrying all my bags (I usually make a trip to my car to drop everything off before hitting up any bookstore).  I didn’t buy ANY movies, and even bought a cute couple of necklaces at NY & Co.  They were on sale.  :D  Plus I only had to pay $7 for parking!  This was seriously a red letter shopping day.  I didn’t spend half as much as I usually do on merchandise OR parking.

Then I got lost in Providence because the Cityside exit from the parking garage was closed off *FIST* and I had to exit Stateside.  Gross!  This makes the second time leaving Stateside ever.  Third time total getting lost on the way home from the mall.

Let’s not get into that, though.

I would like to say, on my behalf, that for a girl with absolutely NO sense of direction…. I’ve done pretty OK thus far in life.  *knock on wood*

How is everyone’s weekend going?
Did you do anything exciting yesterday?
Anything worth noting?
What’s going on today?

So what’s going on today?  Anything good?  I’ve got a coloring date with my nephew in a few minutes, and then I’m going to meet Christina at the mall later and do some serious shopping.  I’m totally ready!  I’m thinking books.  A few books, three or four maybe.  Some sweaters, possibly some pants, some underwear and some tank tops.

Most of the time that I write in my journal I’m either mad or sad, or I’m some kind of upset anyway.  I find that nothing helps make me feel better than writing it out.  I explore myself best that way.  Sometimes I’m so frustrated that I can’t even sleep, and I have to write for at least 20 minutes before I feel myself relax enough to get to the point where I’m tired enough to fall asleep (I probably have the weirdest dreams those nights).

Last night I dreamt that our house was surrounded by snakes and no one could get in or out.  It was just me and Alli home, and my uncle was trying to get to the house but he couldn’t.  Needless to say, when I woke up this morning I woke up and got right out of bed (something I rarely ever do).

Sarah and John and I went to Bagels N More for breakfast, so my day is getting better.  Shopping will make everything OK.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

What are your plans for the weekend?

It’s Monday Again {NaBloPoMo 14}

It is Monday again!  *Captain Obvious takes a bow*

Greetings, new work week!  I meet you rested and ready to face the day that is Monday!  Not so much Tuesday, for I loathe Tuesdays to the very core of my being (I hope you got the memo).  I feel pretty good!  Also lazy, I’m feeling lazy as well.

Don’t leave your sister out there alone too long, you know she’s afraid of deer.

This is what my mother said to Alli last night while I was sitting in the car waiting for her to come out with her laundry so we could leave.  I’ll never live it down!

OK, so what?  Deer scare the everliving crap out of me at night.  Is that so weird?

I had a pretty good weekend.  I cooked breakfast (corned beef hash, eggs, toast) and dinner (chicken and steak quesadillas) on Saturday for Sarah, Daddy, and John.  Go me!  Yesterday Alli and I went to my mom’s and had dinner.  We watched some TV while Alli did laundry, and I cut Alli’s hair.  I did not get a chance to do laundry this weekend, but I did play WoW with Franco!  I had ice cream, too.  Cotton candy ice cream.  Om nom nom nom.

14 more days until Walter gets here.  That’s two weeks of work.  Then two weeks off.

Also 244 days until my birthday.  I AM CONSUMED BY EXCITEMENT!!!1

How was your weekend?
Does anything scare you at night?

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Today sucks.

This weekend was fun.  It wasn’t my lazy weekend but I still had a blast.  On Saturday I went with Sarah and John to a summer party that the company she works for throws every year for their employees and their families.  It was cool.

Well, it was hot and humid, but you know.  There was food, lots of kids (I WANT BABIES!), and people just relaxing and having fun.

I got all dolled up, see?

DORK!

DORK!

And of course Sarah and I watched a few episodes of Dr. Quinn.

I find myself wondering what we’ll do when the episodes run out.

No more Sully?  ASDF&@#$?!

On the whole, today pretty much sucks.  I had so much trouble just getting out of bed this morning that I called out of work.  I haven’t been sleeping for about a week now and it’s starting to take it’s toll on me physically.  I feel like I’ve been steamrolled by an 18 wheeler convoy and I’m cranky as all get out.  I end up in that “am I really asleep?” mode where I’m aware that I keep rolling over and moving around, trying to get comfortable, all the while having these semi-dreams that are so lifelike that I’m worried they’re real and I’m living them, and if I do actually happen to fall asleep I wake up a few minutes later feeling like I’ve just been tortured.

I feel so sick and I have a massive headache.

Some good news?  Lauren is coming to the blogger meetup in NYC next month.  And she has her very own blog now.  Go Lauren!

Also I think I’m in internet love with Julia from NonSociety.

PS  ->  I miss Walter.

Lazy. I has it.

I would like you all to know something about me.  I’d like you to know just.how.lazy.I.am.

Andhari (from Insomniac Lolita) posted a blog about her typical day off, and she wants to know if any of us can beat that kind of laziness.

Let’s go over a typical (and by typical I mean at least EVERY OTHER WITHOUT EXCEPTION) Saturday, a day off for me, since those are my laziest of lazy days.

I wake up at some ridiculously early hour for a Saturday, like 7 or 8:30am, and stay in bed as long as I can.  If my nephew isn’t home this is easier, since the quiet often lulls me back to dreamland.  If I happen to wake up again between 8:30 and 11, I repeat the process as many times as it takes.

When I finally get up, I sit in my computer chair (maybe 4 feet from my bed, but I could be being a little generous there) to check my email even though I’ve been in my bed for at least 10 hours and my bladder is screaming some very foul bladdery words at me and basically threatening to burst through my belly button if I don’t empty it.  But I ignore it because I’m sitting down, and hey that’s enough of a reason.

My email usually tells me I have Facebook messages and blog comments, so I check them, fully intending on going to the LGR in a minute.  But once I’m on Facebook I have to check my farms and do any necessary harvesting and planting, I might as well play the 4 or 5 other Facebook applications I do real quick because I’m already logged in, and if anyone has posted anything funny in the feed since last night I need to comment on those as well.  Blog comments get replied to, but I don’t touch my Google reader.  I don’t blog or read blogs on the weekends.  I have other things to do.

Before I know it, it’s early afternoon and I still haven’t pee’d.  So I go do that, and I wonder why I didn’t do it sooner since the bathroom is right next to my bedroom.  Oh well.  Maybe tomorrow I’ll get it right.  I probably brush my teeth at this point, but sometimes I forget until right before I go to bed.

Don’t act like you’ve never done that.

Then I get some cereal, if there’s any cereal in the house.  If there’s not then I have some chocolate milk and just don’t eat anything for most of the day.  I don’t want to go through the motions of using the oven or the stove or the microwave, especially if it’s going to make a mess or require the leaving behind of extra dishes (which I don’t do).

Then I play WoW.  And I play some more.  I think I should probably do laundry and tell myself honestly that I’ll do it later, it’s more fun to do late at night anyway.  So I keep playing WoW.  It’s probably around 9:30 or 10 when I finally realize that I’ve been in my computer chair all day and I haven’t had anything to eat or drink all day, and that’s probably why my head hurts.  And it’s too late for laundry because I don’t want it to sit in the washer in the basement all night, so I’ll do it tomorrow morning instead.

On a motivated day I’ll put a personal pizza in the toaster oven or eat some more cereal at this point, but mostly I just make some chocolate milk and go into the living room, trying to decide whether or not I want to watch a movie.  I do want to watch a movie, but I’m too lazy to pick one out.  So I go sit in my room and Facebook some more, watch any TV shows I neglected online during the week, or log back into WoW until I can’t keep my eyes open anymore.  Then I go to bed.

I might pee again somewhere in there while I’m playing WoW, like if I’m on a long flight path from one town to another and don’t need to be at the keyboard, but I definitely don’t shower because I can skip that for a day if I’m not going out, which I never am.

That’s a Saturday in my world.  I’m sure Sarah will remember some lazy thing I do or don’t do daily that should be in here, but for the most part I think this is about it.  I would like to add that Sundays look relatively similar, though I usually shower and go to my mom’s for dinner.

The end.

Now, wasn’t that a fabulous story?

Oh Monday, you came too soon!

HA HA HA!  I so funny to myself.

So yeah.  This morning has been hectic.  Not that Mondays are usually relaxing, of course.  It was just unexpectedly hectic.

I had my nephew this morning because Sarah’s grandmother couldn’t watch him today, and she forgot so I didn’t know, so she came back to the house with him to drop him off with me (and my lazy butt was still in bed but it was only 8:25 so it was still early), she was probably most likely late for work, and then she had to leave work at 11:30 because I had to go to work.  AAH!

AAH!

I spent most of the morning playing around on this blog design program.  For a while now I’ve been wanting to design my own blog theme, and I think I’ve found the perfect program for me!  So sometime soon my blog will have a whole new look and feel!  I’m not moving URLs or anything, I’m staying with the PQ Nation (it’s home to me :D), but it’ll be prettier and way more me.

My weekend was good.  On Saturday I went to lunch with my friend Crystal, whom I haven’t seen in years or hung out with since high school.  We totally talked for an hour and a half, and I didn’t even notice the time flying by!  But we’re going to hang out again soon, ’cause she so awesome!  On Sunday I got Walter’s address in Iraq (FINALLY!! HOORAY!!!!) and today I’ll be sending him his first set of letters along with some of my blogs printed up and his birthday present.  His birthday is next Tuesday, I hope it gets there on time.  But I’m not worried about it.  He’ll get it when he gets it, as long as he gets it!

Get it?

I don’t think I’m entirely “with it” this morning.  Can you tell?

Mark your calendars, ladies and gentleblokes: my birthday is in 307 days (♥ May 17 ♥)!

How was your weekend?
Did you do anything exciting?
ARE YOU EXCITED FOR HARRY POTTER ON WEDNESDAY?!!!!!

I LOVE…Fridays

ilovefridaysnew

I LOVE…  that today is Friday, because I really need a weekend I think.

I LOVE…  the weekends.

I LOVE…  apples.  I forgot how tasty they were (I stopped eating them for some dumb reason I don’t even remember… lolz).

I LOVE…  Cinch Spray.  It smells so good, like the cleanest of any clean smell in all the land.  I like to spray my desk with it at work, and then for some hours I can still smell it.  Look.  I know I’m weird.

I LOVE…  Walter’s smile.  I picture it all the time when I close my eyes.  Also if I’m not paying attention to what you’re saying I’m probably in La-La-Land thinking about him, bunny ears and all…

I LOVE…  carnations.  They’re my favorite flower.  In fact, I really don’t care much for most other flowers except lilacs, tulips, and roses.  But carnations are the best ever.

I LOVE…  listening to Wizard Rock and singing along with my windows rolled down, not caring who hears me (especially when I’m singing the chorus of Sonorous Love -  ♪ I’m in love!  I’m in love!  I’m in love with a girl named Hermione G! ♫).

I LOVE…  chocolate ice cream.  What, I’ve told you this already?  Too bad.  I tell you again right now!

I LOVE…  crisp cold water on a hot, sunny, summer day.

I LOVE…  hot, sunny, summer days!

I LOVE…  Boston.  Who’s your team?

Happy Friday everyone.  What do you love today?

Weekend Recap

My weekend activities consisted of the following:

  • playing WoW
  • finishing Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
  • watching Dr. Quinn with Sarah
  • dinner at my mom’s
  • eating ice cream (surprised?  :D)
  • hanging out with Alli
  • my nephew being sick

And you know what?  The sun came out today.  It’s out.  Google says SHOWERS ALL DAY! but the sky is saying something very different and I like it (not Google lying, the sun actually coming out).  It’s about 76°, sunny and humid and I’m loving it!

Even though it’s business casual at work today.

So yeah.  I played WoW for most of the day on Saturday.  I got from level 14 to level 20 (go me!).  Poor John was sick all day, feverish and throwing up.  Sarah couldn’t get her computer to connect to the Interwebz so she couldn’t play WoW for most of the day.  But she eventually figured it out.  And John was feeling much better by Sunday morning.

Sarah and I have been watching my Dr. Quinn DVDs, and as we watch I’m remembering parts of every episode.  It’s fun.  There are episodes in the later seasons that I haven’t seen, so I can’t wait to watch those either.

All-in-all I like how Harry Potter ended.  It was a marvelous ending to an incredible story.  I stayed up until 3:30 in the morning Saturday night to finish it, and I must say that I cried about Fred Weasley.  I actually cried twice reading the last book.  There was probably at least one point in each of the last three books that I cried.  I’m in love with the series.  Every book.  I’m sad it’s over, but it ended perfectly.  I can’t wait for Half-Blood Prince to come out in theatres.

And this morning I got to talk to Walter!  So I’m smiling.

How was your weekend?  I hope today starts your work week off in a good way (I’m so weird, I love Mondays)!

I LOVE…Fridays

I LOVE… that I’m going to the mall with Christina this weekend.  We haven’t been shopping in a while, and I’m in dire need of some new books!  And girl time!
I LOVE…
Atlas Shrugged.  Reading it always makes me feel powerful and smart, capable and honest.  I wish everyone in a position of power in the world had to read it as a prerequisite.

I LOVE… that I’m going back to Mississippi for a few days in June to spend more time with Walter before he leaves (even if he does have small pox).  :D
I LOVE…
knitting.  I’m going to buy some more yarn this weekend I think, and knit like a fiend.
I LOVE…
the smell of fresh cut grass mingled with the scent of spring soil wafting into my car when I see someone mowing their lawn.  There’s no candle scent to match it.
I LOVE…
collecting silly avatars.

I LOVE… SUNSHINE and SUMMERTIME!
I LOVE…
finding things in my cereal box.  So what if I’m 26, it’s still really fun!
I LOVE…
waking up after a particularly good dream only to fall back asleep and keep dreaming where I left off or to re-dream the same thing.  *swoon*
I LOVE… that it’s Friday and I have a three-day weekend ahead of me with nothing planned.  I can make stuff up as I go along, and it’ll be awesome!
I LOVE…
hugs.

I LOVE… everyone who comments on my blogs.  SO LEAVE ME COMMENTS!!!  It’s Friday, tell me what YOU love!
