I LOVE…Fridays! & #prayersforanissa

ilf-yellowpaper

I LOVE…  snogging my husband.  I miss him.

I LOVE…  doing I LOVE…Fridays! every week.  It’s my favorite blog to write each and every week, except maybe this week my favorite was Trust me.  You WANT to read this. (AKA the time I almost killed a man) but I still love my ILF.

I LOVE…  writing.  It’s the only thing that’s challenging that I actually WANT to do, as opposed to all the times I realize something is challenging and give up (which is always).

I LOVE…  how Anissa’s friends and family and all the ladies over at Aiming Low are praying and pulling for Anissa.  She had a stroke this week, and she needs ALL your prayers and well wishes.  If you want to help out the family in any way you can, go to THIS PAGE and fill out the form.  I’m praying for Anissa.  Are you?

I LOVE…  Twitter.  I kind of  stopped using broke up with forgot about it for a while, but with this awesome TwitterGadget doohickey I added to my iGoogle home page a couple weeks ago, I remember to check and update it a lot more.  Like fifty times a day more.

I LOVE…  Twilight.  It’s true.  I make no secret of my love for all things Edward Cullen.  Going to see New Moon this afternoon with Sarah.  It was my least favorite of all the books (because there was practically no Edward!) but the movie looks good.  When NaNoWriMo is over I’m going to re-read them.

I LOVE…  Edward Cullen.  You’ll probably get a lot of that from me in the next few days…  SINCE I’M GOING TO SEE NEW MOON.

I LOVE…  that John Green likes Twilight.  No, Siriusly (<- I love when I do that)… he does.  PROOF!!!!

I LOVE…  Edward Cullen.  What?  I said that?  Oh, well… I do.  I love him.

I LOVE…  this song…

I LOVE…  the Glee mash-up of Young Girl and Don’t Stand So Close To Me.  Mr. Schue totally NAILED it!  I have to say that I love all the Glee mash-ups so far.  I really look forward to more of them.  :D

I totally went all Linky McLinksalot on all y’all today with this great amount of links I’ve posted (and by great I mean ‘large’, not ‘really freaking cool’), but I swear they are all awesome (and by awesome I mean ‘really freaking cool’).

What do YOU love today?
Have you seen/are you going to see New Moon this weekend?

Hello Bloggers

How YOU doin’?

It’s Monday morning and I’m feeling great.  Had a kinda rough emotional night last night but I’m feeling much better this morning.

The reason for my happiness?

Tomorrow I’m headed to South Carolina for work, and I get to have dinner with Paula!  The area is supposed to be really nice so I’m all excited and stuff.

Friday I start my vacation in Mississippi, but I won’t be able to blog much for the next two weeks so I’ve set up some old blogs to repost.  Most of them are blogs none of you have read before (with the exception of Walter and PQ since they come from my Myspace days) so I hope everyone enjoys them.  They’re some of my favorites.  I’ll also probably be on Twitter and DailyBooth more than my blog while I’m away, so keep an eye out for me there if you have one (@SillyJaime)!

So how is everyone doing?  How did all y’all spend your weekend?  Anything exciting going on this week?  ARE YOU GOING TO MISS ME?!

I’m going to try and stay relaxed today.  Maybe play some Neopets, finish reading this book The Wise Woman by Philippa Gregory, and get some work done.  I’m almost all packed, like 97%.  The rest is last minute stuff I’ll need in the morning.

Happy Monday everyone!

I LOVE…Fridays

Prelude to Eclipse

I’m about to start reading Eclipse, and I’m excited.

Last night one of the guys at work asked me how I liked the second book (he’s only read Twilight so far, not New Moon) and I told him it was good enough to read it in less than 12 hours.  Good in a different way than Twilight.  I noticed that Twilight is a book heavy with sexual tension and desire and in New Moon that undertone is almost completely gone, but there’s also a lot more action and a lot more going on in the second book.  So they’re both good.

I’m looking forward to hopefully a lot more more Edward and his family in this third book.  Bella kind of annoys me with her constant woe-is-me attitude, but at the same time she reminds me of myself.  That can’t be a good thing.  *eye roll*

I’m in love with Edward Cullen.  It’s true.  If he was like a real life guy (you know, minus the vampire part) it would be creepy and he would frighten me with his obsessive stalkerish tendencies, but I’m in love with him as an impossible fictional character.  I didn’t really like Jacob all that much in the first book and my dislike of him grew in the second book.  Where Edward is mysterious and sexy in his godlike perfection, I immediately related Jacob to an annoying friend who is secretly in love with me and while at first it’s endearing and sweet, it ends up being annoying because he purposefully refuses to get it.

Still haven’t watched the movie.  Still not sure I want to.  I hear Robert Pattinson does a good job portraying the character’s personality, but he just isn’t as perfect as Edward should be visually.  And I think Kristen Stewart’s voice kind of bothers me in the trailers.  We’ll see.  Sarah will probably force me to watch it with her anyway LOL.

Alright, enough Twilight talk for now.  I’ve gotta go get ready for work.  Any thoughts on the new theme?  I like it a lot better than all the other’s I’ve tried thus far.  What do you think?  Are you following me on Twitter (@SillyJaime) yet?

McCrankyPants

It’s no secret (from anyone on Twitter, anyway) that lately everything technology-related simply pisses me off.

The DVD player from Hell is a P.O.S. and deserves a lingering kick in the nuts.
My computer won’t play DVDs.
My computer is making strange sounds and Mike isn’t here to inspect it.
I can’t play my playstation because I accidentally put the AV cables in my dad’s DVD player box and don’t have them.**

In short, I said the fuck word like ten thousand times this weekend at Twitter.

OK, so maybe it wasn’t really ten thousand, it was more like ten.  Hundred.  Or just ten.  But whatev.  You get the picture, I was pissed.

And my stress about my ineptitude concerning all things technology in all it’s lameness has carried on over to today.  Monday.  I suspect my foul mood may also have something to do with the blog I’m trying to write (no, not this one).  And also that all I really wanted on Saturday was to watch the damn Newsies, and I still haven’t been able to.

GRRRRRR.

I guess watching Christian Bale in 3:10 to Yuma (pretty kick ass movie if you ask me) last night with Mike (who is in California for work *angry face*) made up for it a little bit, but he wasn’t singing and dancing with Doogie Howser’s best friend Vinnie so it just wasn’t the same.

You can probably take a guess at the level of my grievous distress at the latter event, and how it has only added to my crankypantsness, right?

What was I talking about?  I got distracted playing Dragon Wars on Facebook for the last 15 minutes.  *blush* Don’t judge me!  *skims*

Oh yeah, I remember now.  Technology is really out to yank my chain this week.  And did I mention that I’m stressed?  DID I MENTION THAT MIKE IS IN CALIFORNIA UNTIL FRIDAY AND I ONLY GOT 1.5 HOURS OF SLEEP ON HIS COUCH LAST NIGHT AND THEN DIDN’T GET ANY SLEEP THIS MORNING AFTER BRINGING HIM TO THE AIRPORT AT THE ASS CRACK OF THE ASS CRACK OF DAWN AND THEN GETTING STUCK IN STAND-STILL TRAFFIC FOR OVER AN HOUR ON RT 3 (of all places, now) BECAUSE SOME SORRY EXCUSE FOR A DRIVER HIT A TELEPHONE POLE ON 95 AT THE ASS CRACK OF DAWN SO I DIDN’T GET TO COME HOME AND GO TO SLEEP????  Did I mention that?  ‘Cause not sleeping stresses me out too.

Now that that’s out of my system (for the time being) I’m going to watch the latest episode of Lie To Me and wait for Walter to call me so I can go to sleep happy.

**Sarah’s brother has since lent me his cord that he’s not using, w00t!

Why I Adore Wil Wheaton

Of course my reasons vary from residual 80’s fangirlness to, well, residual 80’s fangirlness.

I keed, I keed.

But seriously?  What keeps me following him on Twitter and reading his blogs is nothing more than his writing.  He is an incredible writer.  (That’s probably my understatement of the month.)

I love that his personality doesn’t overwhelm his writing talent, and also that his talent for writing doesn’t overwhelm his personality.  That’s not to say that his personality is questionable or his writing style is poor, but just the opposite.  The two work perfectly together to form unparalleled, geekified works of art.

I don’t think of him as a celebrity or as a child star.  I think of him as a writer.

I’m a reader.  I admire good writing.  And Wil Wheaton?  He has a fantastic way of telling you a story.  ANY story.  His random 140 character max Tweets are entertaining but if all you do is follow him on Twitter, you’re missing out.  If you’re not even doing that much, I disown you.

OK, I don’t really disown you.  But you should at least pick up one (or all three…) of his books.  He’s an entertainer and one way or another he does a great job of it.

Another reason, however small, is that he inspires me to think and to write.  Reading his blogs makes me a little less afraid of the world and life in general.

And that’s that.
