I LOVE…Fridays!

I LOVE…  that I have the coolest family and friends.  Lauren and my cousin Crystal took me out to dinner last night at the Olive Garden, and I had SUCH a great time.  Why did we wait so long to do this?  We could have been having this much fun for years, and now I’m moving and it’s going to be a while before we can do it again.  *sad face*

I LOVE…  the non-frozen strawberry Bellini I had last night.  Both of them.  They were most delicious.

I LOVE…  the Sound of Music.  I bought the soundtrack on iTunes the other day and watched the DVD yesterday.  I’ve always loved that movie (just ask Sarah, much to her dismay), and it still makes me feel as magical as it did 20 years ago.

I LOVE…  that my Pampered Chef order came in, and all I want to do is play with everything!

I LOVE…  the diamond earrings I bought myself on Tuesday.  I love them so much, I’ll probably wear them every day.

I LOVE…  that a week from today I’ll be arriving in Mississippi, getting ready for my husband to come home from Iraq.  MY HUSBAND IS COMING HOME.  HE WILL BE HOME.  IN THE UNITED STATES.  WITH ME.

I LOVE…  that I’ve set a date for my wedding reception, and that I know where I’m going to have it.

I LOVE…Fridays!

I LOVE…  feeling genuinely happy.  Lately I’ve been feeling down, often times like there is nothing to look forward to and I’ll never smile again.  Which is a lame feeling.  Today I feel happy.  I’d like to keep this up, please.

I LOVE…  that this week Christina uncovered Bible Fanfiction.  BIBLE FANFICTION.  Do you understand what that means?

I LOVE…  finally wearing pants that fit me.  I put it off for far too long, not wanting to acknowledge that I’d never fit into my size 3’s again.  I guess this means I’ve accepted that I’ll never be the size of a 16 year old as long as I live.  And that’s good… right?

I LOVE…  that there are only 86 more days until my birthday.  ♥

I LOVE…  Pampered Chef!!!!  Lauren had a Pampered Chef party last night and I filled out an order form for some wicked awesome kitchenware goodies that I can’t wait to use!  Like the egg slicer.  And the food chopper.  And the green color coated knives.  (( Can you NOM cooking utensils?  Because I want to…. ))

I LOVE…  the Twilight Saga.  I finished reading Breaking Dawn (for the second time) last night and it was even better than the first time I read it.  Is it sick that I already want to read them again?  Right now?  I won’t.  I’ll wait at least until Breaking Dawn comes out in paperback and I can own it.  I’ll wait.  But I don’t want to.

I LOVE…  owning books.  I dislike borrowing books more than I dislike lending them out.  (( shudder ))  That’s a lot.  I like to own them and know they are mine.  What if I want to read it again?  (( No, I don’t have a library card – in case you were wondering.  I haven’t had one since I was 10 years old. ))

I LOVE…  GLEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deep Thoughts (and Autumnsong)

I’m sitting here in my room with a cup of hot cocoa watching large flakes of snow fall fast past the kitchen windows.  This is going to be my last winter in Rhode Island for a few years, and I love that it is snowing so fiercely outside.

this is the view from my livingroom window

the view from my livingroom window this morning

I’ve got Autumnsong playing in the background as I read and write.  Tom Milsom is very talented.

I had the chance to meet him in Central Park last summer where he put on a small show when Lauren and I went to NYC for a blogger meet-up.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’ll be moving away soon, so I wanted to share with you some of the things I love about where I live:

  • My family is here.  I’m very close with my family.
  • Nothing is really too far away.  The closest grocery store or WalMart is five minutes from my house.
  • There’s nothing in the world quite like the peaceful feeling of being snowed in by a good old fashioned blizzard.  Wrap a cozy blanket around yourself and curl up with a book or just watch the snow fall… it’s calming.
  • We get the best of all four seasons here.  In the spring everything turns vibrant and green with the rain.  In the summer we have the beach and the glorious sunshine.  When it’s autumn the leaves take two weeks to turn and the streets are lined with the most magnificent colors Mother Nature has in her bag of tricks.  And in the winter?  Everything is covered by a blanket of white while the Earth is sleeping.
  • Del’s Lemonade.
  • The Washington County Fair.
  • The Providence Place Mall.
  • Ninigret Park.

I think mostly I just love the feeling of home, the good and the bad.  I learned everything I know here, I’ve had 97% of my life experiences here.  This the a place where I became me.

What’s something you love about where you live?

I LOVE…Fridays!

I LOVE…  listening to music.  I don’t usually listen to music unless I’m driving, but lately I’ve been turning on my iTunes and leaving the volume on v quiet so that it’s like my life has a soundtrack.  Unless I’m watching TV or YouTube videos… then I press pause.  But the music is so low that I’m not even aware that it’s there and it doesn’t disrupt my concentration (we all know how hard that is to come by)… but at the same time I’m hearing it.  Current music of choice: Classic Rock and Soft Rock.  That’s right, baby.

Did you know that the word ‘noise’ actually comes from the Latin word nausea?  Did you know ‘nausea’ was Latin?  I didn’t.  I love Wikipedia.

I LOVE…  “window shopping” on The Online, but I don’t like actually purchasing most things online.  I’m all about instant gratification when purchasing the bulk of what I shop for.  Especially clothes.  I hate buying clothes when I haven’t tried them on first.  And I just ordered a Natalie Dee t-shirt off The Interwebz, so I hope it fits because I’ll be too lazy to send it back if it doesn’t.  And I really like it.  So I hope it fits.

I LOVE…  LOST!!!  But I hate it, too.  I love it and I hate it.  It’s that good.

Speaking of Lost, I LOVE…  The Oceanic Six.

I LOVE…  funny TV shows more than any other genre.  Friends has been my ultimate favorite show in the history of ever, but now The Big Bang Theory is seriously giving my beloved Friends a run for its monies.  The battle will be fierce.  Is there room on the top of my favorites list for two shows?  We’ll see…

I LOVE…  looking through the list of movies on Hulu.  Sometimes they have the funniest tags in the descriptions.

Scary toothy monster?  Really, Hulu?

I LOVE…  getting letters from my husband.  I actually keep the last letter he sent me in my purse.  We don’t write all the time because we talk on the phone pretty regularly, but there’s something special about getting a letter.  I like it.

I LOVE…  finding things I’d forgotten about, and that instant feeling of elation that comes along with remembering how important something was to you upon recovering it.

What do YOU love today?

I LOVE…Fridays

I LOVE…  watching TV.  When I’m at my dad’s house I don’t even mind the commercials because there’s almost always something good on (read: CSI).  On Hulu a lot of the good shows are coming back on, like Secret Life of the American Teenager, House, Heroes, Grey’s Anatomy, Mercy and Castle.  Lost comes back on in a couple weeks, and I’m pretty sure Greek does too.  Watching TV is distracting, and I like distracting.  I’m even addicted to The Bachelor this season, which I haven’t watched in years, because I was in need of something to do to fill my time.

I LOVE…  listening to Wil Wheaton’s podcast, Radio Free Burrito.  He is very animated and funny.  And geeky.  ♥

I LOVE…  sleeping.  Hours fly by when I’m sleeping and my mind is entertained, my nerves are as relaxed as they’ll ever be, my body is resting, and I wake up feeling refreshed most of the time.

I LOVE…  my new bedding.

I LOVE…  lots of things I can’t think of right now because I’m not in the mood.  The end.

What do YOU love today?
No, really.  I want to know.

I LOVE…Fridays! [and a POLL]

I LOVE…  that I get to start off the new year with an I LOVE…Fridays post.  WINKITTY.

I LOVE…  that I spent last night out with my awesome friends.  Got some really awesome video of these two drunk old guys singing You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling by the Righteous Brothers.

I LOVE…  that it is less than three months until I see Walter again.  Less. than. three.  <3

I LOVE…  that there is a new poll in the sidebar of my blog.  And I want you all to vote in it.  Then tell me in the comments what house you voted me for and why.

<–  Right here.

For any of you that aren’t versed in the Harry Potter universe, descriptions of the houses can be found here.  Participation is mandatory.  OK, it’s not really, but it should be.

I LOVE…  the new book I bought this week.  I can’t wait to read it!

I LOVE…  that I beat Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on my DS already (yes, that is an accomplishment).  Go me!

I LOVE…  that I actually bought Adobe Premiere Elements, and it will be arriving in the mail next week.  I’ll finally be able to upload videos to YouTube that I make with my awesome new video camera.

I LOVE…  Cat Face.  If people heard me walking around my house or whatever, singing the Cat Face theme song, they would think I was nuts because of the awesome lyrics and my very poor imitation of the voice.  Believe me when I say that it is very poor.

What do YOU love today?

I actually feel rather miserable right now and would appreciate any attempts at cheering up.
Also don’t forget to vote in my poll.

Oh. My. Goodness. Becky, look at her…

This video is - without a doubt – the greatest video I have seen in all of 2009.

I love you, Maxie, but it even trumps Blogger Face.  When you see it, you will be forced to agree.

Woman with lollipop for absolutely no reason?  Check.
Majorly fake religious bling?  Check.
NIV with a ribbon bookmark?  CHECK.
Seriously awesome lyrics?  Double.Effing.Check.
–>   Seriously… ‘wienie’ and ‘Amen’ in the same verse?  CHECK!!!!

And I just bought it on iTunes.  Don’t judge me.

Happy New Years Eve, everybodies!  I’m going to karaoke tonight at the Cove if anyone wants to meet me there!

What did you think of this video?
Isn’t it ten thousand different kinds of awesome?
Are you as excited as I am???

I LOVE…Fridays! teh Christmas Edition.

I LOVE… Christmas.  It is the only good thing about the winter season.

I LOVE…  green.  It is my favorite color.

I LOVE…  my hot new video camera from Walter.  I seriously love it.  I take it everywhere with me now, even if I’m not using it.

What??!!!

I LOVE…  taking pictures and video of everything.  I remember things better if I have a visual.  I recorded 80% of today’s Christmassy festivities with my new video camera and I’m very excited about it.

I LOVE…  my awesome new Nintendo DS from Sarah!!!1  She even gave me a cute little carrying case for it.  I can’t wait to find a game I like!

I LOVE…  my family… my parents, my grandparents, my brother and sisters, my husband’s mother and brothers… I’m so lucky to have such an amazing and loving family.  I really am thankful for them all!

I LOVE…  that Pham took time out of his day on Wednesday to help me figure out what was wrong with my non-video.  On a related note, I simply hate (HATE!) Windows Media Player. French The Llama.

I LOVE…  the video I made that was supposed to be a vlog on Wednesday, even though it ended up not being saved.

I LOVE… Harry Potter.  Oh wait, did I already say that this week?  Santa *cough*I*cough* got me Books 4-7.

I LOVE…  watching people open the gifts I got them, and getting gifts I really like (I have always been more of a ‘getter’ than a ‘giver’ at Christmas).

I LOVE… prime rib and au jus.

I LOVE… that I can out eat just about anyone I know.  Seriously.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

What do YOU love today?!!

Wait, do you like Harry Potter too?

When I admit to you in passing that I love Harry Potter, I don’t mean it in that ‘I’ll watch it if it’s on’ or ‘I read the books and thought they were terrific’ kind of way.  I’m serious that I Love.Harry.Potter.  I might just say it in passing, but inside I’m all excited just at the mention of it.  My mind goes into HP overdrive and I try to discern if you love Harry Potter or if you just like it.

I’m most likely wondering silently what house you would be in (LET’S GO GRYFFINDOR!)…

…if you’ve decided what kind of wand you would have if you went to Hogwarts, what your Patronus would be…

I randomly slip into the conversation (any conversation) that I listen to Wizard Rock, that’s Harry Potter music, and from your expression I will glean whether or not your are repulsed by my slightly obsessive behavior (usually people think I’m nuts, but don’t say it out loud and I can totally tell by their facial expression after I admit this little gem).  Of COURSE I listen to Wizard Rock (thank you Pham!), because it rocks.  Literally.   Ministry Of Magic?  The Parselmouths?  HECK YES!

I wanna be in a Wizard Rock band!  I can sing!

I think about the wizarding world in relation to the real world all the time, comparing and contrasting, wondering What would be the secret use of this thing here? or How cool would it be if that guy over there that’s dressed all weird-like was really a wizard trying to blend in with the muggles?  At least he’d have an excuse for wearing that, if he didn’t know any better.

I want Gryffindor robes… really good quality ones, not cheap Halloween costume material.

I cast spells at people and things inside my head.  StupefyRiddikulusExpecto Patronum (just for funsies)!  (Accio would be wicked useful for getting the phaser when I didn’t want to get up to change the channel!)

Yesterday I wrapped the last four HP books and labeled them To: Jaime, From: Santa to put under the tree.  Boy, Santa really does know what I like!  And you know what?  I’m going to be excited when I open them!  That means I can read them again!  I bought them on Black Friday and hid them from myself so I could give them to myself on Christmas.  With my GPS.

I would talk about Harry Potter with a complete stranger if one walked up to me on the street.  Wanna know how to kidnap me without having to use force?  Ask me questions about Harry Potter and seem genuinely interested.  I’ll probably go anywhere with you just to have someone to talk about HP with.

(And just in case you’re wondering… my husband thinks he knows how weird I am weird and married me anyway.  Joke is on him!)

I LOVE…Fridays!

I LOVE…  Project for Awesome.  It was such a hit yesterday, let’s keep it going today!!!!!

I LOVE…  that when I was filming my vlog yesterday I actually felt comfortable in front of the camera.  WINKITTY!

I LOVE…  that Steffi subscribed to my YouTube channel.  I now have SIX subscribers.  It feels good.  :D

I LOVE…  formspring.me.  Like… I love it so much.  It is my new favorite.

I LOVE…  that it’s Christmas time and I’m actually feeling in the mood for it, and it isn’t creeping up on me!  Not only am I prepared, but I’m excited for it.  *dances*  Now all I need is a Santa hat.

I LOVE…  Fruits Basket!  I’m watching it now on Hulu for the first time, and it is uber cute!  I want to own it on DVD someday.

I LOVE…  anime.  I want to watch all the anime I own with Walter.  And I want to own all the InuYasha but it will take me a while to collect them (…all six million episodes).

I LOVE…  that Crystal came over on Tuesday and we totally had Knitfest 2009 in my living room, watching Pride & Prejudice.  I started on my brother’s scarf that he doesn’t know I’m making him (I hope I have it done by Christmas).

I LOVE…  that twice this week I accidentally left the house in my slippers.  lolz

I LOVE…  wearing Walter’s sweatshirt.

What do YOU love today?

Gwen Bell’s Best of 2009 Challenge:
December 18 Shop. Online or offline, where did you spend most of your mad money this year?

I spent most of my money at the mall.  Random stores at the mall, I guess, even though I went a lot less this year than I did last year.  I would just like to say that I love spending money.  LOVE IT!  I could be buying cold cuts, as long as I’m spending money I feel good.
