I LOVE…Fridays!

I LOVE… listening to music. I don’t usually listen to music unless I’m driving, but lately I’ve been turning on my iTunes and leaving the volume on v quiet so that it’s like my life has a soundtrack. Unless I’m watching TV or YouTube videos… then I press pause. But the music is so low that I’m not even aware that it’s there and it doesn’t disrupt my concentration (we all know how hard that is to come by)… but at the same time I’m hearing it. Current music of choice: Classic Rock and Soft Rock. That’s right, baby.
Did you know that the word ‘noise’ actually comes from the Latin word nausea? Did you know ‘nausea’ was Latin? I didn’t. I love Wikipedia.
I LOVE… “window shopping” on The Online, but I don’t like actually purchasing most things online. I’m all about instant gratification when purchasing the bulk of what I shop for. Especially clothes. I hate buying clothes when I haven’t tried them on first. And I just ordered a Natalie Dee t-shirt off The Interwebz, so I hope it fits because I’ll be too lazy to send it back if it doesn’t. And I really like it. So I hope it fits.
I LOVE… LOST!!! But I hate it, too. I love it and I hate it. It’s that good.

Speaking of Lost, I LOVE… The Oceanic Six.
I LOVE… funny TV shows more than any other genre. Friends has been my ultimate favorite show in the history of ever, but now The Big Bang Theory is seriously giving my beloved Friends a run for its monies. The battle will be fierce. Is there room on the top of my favorites list for two shows? We’ll see…
I LOVE… looking through the list of movies on Hulu. Sometimes they have the funniest tags in the descriptions.

Scary toothy monster? Really, Hulu?
I LOVE… getting letters from my husband. I actually keep the last letter he sent me in my purse. We don’t write all the time because we talk on the phone pretty regularly, but there’s something special about getting a letter. I like it.
I LOVE… finding things I’d forgotten about, and that instant feeling of elation that comes along with remembering how important something was to you upon recovering it.
What do YOU love today?
I LOVE…Fridays!
I LOVE… getting a full night sleep (which I did not get last night).
I LOVE… that I got to be there with Lauren last night for her bachelorette party. Her sister is wicked cool, and it was awesome to spend time with my cousin Crystal – even if Lloyd McDrunkerson was jumping in all the pictures of Lauren and her friends, and even if the mechanical bull was out of order.
I LOVE… building the “tallest tallest tower” with my nephew. Lincoln Logs will never go out of style (even though they come with plastic pieces these days that never came in the sets when I was wee).

I LOVE… that my nephew is hilarious without even trying.
I LOVE… that my friends are so supportive of me. We might not be able to see each other as often as we’d like, but they’re always there for me when I need them and they know I’m here for them too. It feels amazing.
I LOVE… playing FlyFF. I just wish I had someone to play with. Alli doesn’t play it anymore and she’s been my biggest gaming partner ever, so without her I kind of don’t know what to do…
I LOVE… the idea of never owning another pet ever again.
I LOVE… lame jokes. Where do you get virgin wool? Ugly sheep!
I LOVE… knowing that I’m going to have an awesome weekend filled with Harry Potter and butterbeer and fangirl fun. Oh yeah… and Christina. :] There will be pictures and video to share when the weekend is over!
What do YOU love today?
Thank You For Blogging Award 2009
The beautiful Andhari gave me the TYFBA’09 yesterday. ♥ She said:
15. Life Under Construction - She calls herself a big nerd, I call her a sexy nerd. Jaime’s posts always make me happy. Especially her I Love…Fridays.
Sexy nerd? I can get behind that! She’s so sweet!
Thank you Andhari. :D
I think the Thank You For Blogging Award is like a great big thank you to all of my blogging friends. You know, those very same people who repeatedly read all the rubbish drivel New York Times Best Seller material I post here on a semi-daily basis. Because you know what? I love you guys. And I am thankful for you. You care more about my life than most of my family and RL friends. So I want all of you to consider yourselves recipients of this award. In the spirit of Thanksgiving.

The Rules:
1. Each recipient receiving a TYFBA bust give away at least 4 TYFBA’s.
2. Each recipient must describe, in at least three words why they are giving that person the award.
Now you can all have this award, but since I am tired and tired (what?) I am just going to name four people, because I could literally list you all and I would never get to sleep tonight and I’m already having trouble keeping my eyes open because it is hours past my bedtime. All the blogs I read and all the people who comment on the things I write are important to me, but since I don’t have the time or the energy to name you all (and I would have to stay up all night trying, believe me!) I’m just naming the following bloggers that I’m thankful for.
Maven (A Fabulously Good Life) – She’s so inspiring to me, and she makes me laugh and feel good about life. I can’t say enough good things about this woman. She really is Just.That.Fabulous.
Shauna Glenn (ShaunaGlenn.com) – Shauna probably doesn’t even know who I am and doesn’t read my blog, but I’m giving this award to her anyway. She is awesome sauce. She’s hilarious and her blogs always put a smile on my face.
Ashley (Writing to Reach You) – I love reading Ashley’s blogs. A lot of the time she writes things I can relate to, and she’s so sincere. She’s the best thing 20SB ever put in my Google reader, and I have a lot of 20SB’ers in my reader!
Bethany (Bethany’s World) – Bethany isn’t afraid to share her opinions or write about the controversial topics. She’s a great writer, and while I might not always agree with her, I do always enjoy reading whatever it is she has to say.
So there you have it. Now go forth! Spread the thankfulness all over the blogosphere! And thank you again to Andhari. She’s such a sweetheart!
Hallway Shenanigans
I loved high school. I wasn’t one of those kids that couldn’t wait to get out into the real world. I loved being immersed in the social activity and the learning atmosphere. And the social activity.
The worst thing about high school: gym class. I was picked last or not picked at all, I didn’t want to try at any sport they made us play, and I “forgot” my gym clothes or faked sick all the time. Yeah, I actually failed gym one quarter in the 8th grade… I was that kid.
The best thing about high school: seeing a friend or that guy you like walk past your classroom door and asking the teacher for the bathroom pass ’cause you feel like trying to hunt them down (or stalk them, whichever the situation required of you). You know those times, the ones when you never actually went into the bathroom and just walked a lap or two around the school, maybe stopping at your locker. Twice.
Or better yet? Coordinated bathroom breaks. Meet at my locker at 10:38 if you can get convince your teacher that you have to pee so we can whisper and exchange notes or something equally non-classroomish**!

The hallway during class was the cool place to be. It doesn’t count as part of my Hallway Awkwardness theory, because anyone walking the empty halls at the same time (unless you were bitter enemies) smiled or nodded with that escape from class camaraderie. You know the one.
Reading the Twilight series totally takes me back to high school, because this is what I was thinking about while I was walking down the hall at work a few minutes ago.
**It should be a gramatical rule that adding ‘ish’ (and other such suffixes such as ‘ness’ and ‘age’) to the end of a word automatically makes it a valid word in spellcheck.
Hello Bloggers
How YOU doin’?

It’s Monday morning and I’m feeling great. Had a kinda rough emotional night last night but I’m feeling much better this morning.
The reason for my happiness?
Tomorrow I’m headed to South Carolina for work, and I get to have dinner with Paula! The area is supposed to be really nice so I’m all excited and stuff.
Friday I start my vacation in Mississippi, but I won’t be able to blog much for the next two weeks so I’ve set up some old blogs to repost. Most of them are blogs none of you have read before (with the exception of Walter and PQ since they come from my Myspace days) so I hope everyone enjoys them. They’re some of my favorites. I’ll also probably be on Twitter and DailyBooth more than my blog while I’m away, so keep an eye out for me there if you have one (@SillyJaime)!
So how is everyone doing? How did all y’all spend your weekend? Anything exciting going on this week? ARE YOU GOING TO MISS ME?!
I’m going to try and stay relaxed today. Maybe play some Neopets, finish reading this book The Wise Woman by Philippa Gregory, and get some work done. I’m almost all packed, like 97%. The rest is last minute stuff I’ll need in the morning.
Happy Monday everyone!
Please help.
I don’t understand ‘hanging out with friends’. What purpose does it serve? What does it accomplish? I need to understand, what is the point? What do you get from it?
What do you do when you’re ‘hanging out with friends’? Does it improve upon the quality of your life? And if so, how?
These are serious, burning questions.
Also watch my video blog from this morning.
What TV or Movie Character Are You?
No, I’m not posting a link to some silly interwebz quiz.
I just want to know who you think your TV personality is.
I’m the Monica.

FRIENDS is probably my favorite show ever, because I never get tired of it. I have all ten seasons on DVD. *proud grin*

I’m bossy. VERY bossy. And the way I pine over getting married and having babies? The similarities are ridiculous.
I have rules. I’m very particular (ok, so maybe ‘particular’ isn’t a strong enough word…) about rules (my rules especially, but rules in general) and my ’systems’. I have a system for waking up and making my bed. I have a system for taking a shower (which bugs the hell out of Sean).
People, if you knew all my rules you’d be flabbergasted!
I’m compulsively obsessive about my things and how everything has it’s own place.
You remember that episode where Rachel moves some things in the apartment around? All the other Friends warn her to put it all back before Monica gets home or she’ll go crazy but Rachel is adamant that Monica will appreciate it? If you remember that episode, then you’ll remember how Monica acted when she came in: all overly wary of her surroundings, casually touching things, and then freaking out?
That’s me.
If someone so much as walks in my room and breathes, I know it. If something is moved slightly, I know it.
So I’m the Monica.
Who are you? And why?
