“Watch out that bad guy!”
It’s an arid 19°F outside today here in southern Rhode Island, but I’m not going to let that get me down (even though I have to go out in it later when it will surely be colder). Yesterday was such a crummy, stressful day, that today I just want everything to be relaxed and happy.
My nephew is being so incredibly good this morning, and I keep telling him how proud he makes me. We’re taking a break from playing trains and watching Thomas so that he can play Super Mario Bros on Sarah’s new Wii. If I walk out into the living room, this is what I see:

And if he catches me watching him, it’s all over. All he wants to do is watch me play. He doesn’t want to play himself. And he shouts things at me.
“Jump there, Auntie Jammy! Watch out that bad guy! Wait! Go down there! Look at that lights are on!”
and:
“Get the pennies!”
and my personal favorite, one that rises in crescendo and pitch with each word:
“Auntie. Jammy. You. Are. Really. Cool. This. Game!”
I only just got away for a few minutes, just now.
What a weird kid I have for a nephew. I remember playing the original Super Mario Bros at his age. When I was 6, I didn’t like watching anyone else play Mario. I wanted to play all the time. Me! Me! ME! I didn’t even like two player mode because I had to wait my turn. I hated it so much that I learned to beat the game in one guy, so that I never had to wait my turn.
I still don’t like to share. lolz.
Ask anyone I know, they’ll tell you it’s always ‘Jaime Jaime Jaime’. It is perhaps my biggest personality flaw, how selfish I am.
(I swear the people down the street can probably hear his squeals of excitement when he jumps over a hole, or when a mushroom gets too close to him. It is so cute!)
So I guess that’s it for today. I’m being summoned rather loudly from the living room, where my beloved Super Mario Bros game has been transformed from this:

…into this:

And then I will go to the store to pick up the necessary ingredients for the steak dinner I am cooking for my sister and my dad.
Happy Wednesday, everyone.
What was the first game you ever played on a game system?
Do you share well? Are you a ’sharer’?
What are you having for dinner?
So much food! {NaBloPoMo 5}
Hi guys.

I just got home from my mom’s house. They had a clam bake type thing today, and I ate so much food!
Steamers, potato salad, macaroni salad, chips & dip, crackers & cheese with pepperoni. I also had some Pepsi, but only a little.
Wanna see something ridiculous? Check out the inside of my mom’s fridge:

I’d hate to have to clean that thing out. It’s kind of hard to tell since it’s almost empty, but the milk is on the top shelf, tipped on it’s side.
Their fridge always looks like that. I can’t stand a messy refrigerator.
My mom wasn’t so happy that I put a picture of her fridge on the online, but I’m like “ma, you don’t even know what Facebook is”. Then she hit me on the head.
I’ve had a pretty good Saturday so far. I slept in, but that’s probably because I went to bed late. I don’t understand how some people can sleep whenever they feel like it. My body doesn’t work that way, no matter how bad I want it to. What else? I played WoW for a bit, got my new char up to level 14. And I got a letter in the mail from Walter last night. SQUEE!!

I kinda want to watch The Sound of Music, but I’m lazy and it’s long. I can either sit here in my bedroom and play WoW and some Restaurant City on Facebook, or I can get up, go into the living room, put the movie in and lay on the couch. I’m probably going to go with the option that requires the least amount of getting up.
I LOVE…Fridays! {NaBloPoMo 4}

I LOVE… my new layout.
I LOVE… that it’s a 3 day weekend! It’s my third 3 day weekend in a month. :D

I LOVE… my mother. She ain’t perfect, but she’s mine. When she worked at the restaurant she used to make the best homefries in all the land. I need to learn how to make those homefries.
I LOVE… breakfast. It’s my favorite meal of the day whether it’s cereal or corned beef hash, I love it! If I eat a good breakfast I find I don’t feel hungry for most of the day. I hardly ever eat breakfast though.
I LOVE… Greek. I’d take Cappie over Evan any day of the week. *drool*
I LOVE… writing letters to Walter. They aren’t the most interesting things in the world I’m sure, but they’re little pieces of me for him to have while he’s far away.

I LOVE… summertime. I’m sad to see it going so quickly when it seems like it started so late.
I LOVE… feeling like I’m accomplishing something because I’m finally crossing off things on my 101 in 1001 list (see top of blog below header for the link to view my list).
I LOVE… Yankee Candle brand candles. Right now my room smells like Macintosh apples. It is glorious!
I LOVE… Casting Crowns. I’ve been listening to them for days. I really need to find someone who has some of their CD’s so I can get me some more! Four songs is definitely not enough.
What do YOU love today?
Don’t forget to check out Lauren’s and PQ’s I LOVE…Fridays posts today!
Do not be flabbergasted at the content in this post.
I just wanted to use the word ‘flabbergasted’. it’s a good one.
But srsly, don’t be.
I am so frustrated in my quest to find acceptable coloring books for my coloring pleasure. I’ve looked online (Amazon, Ebay, Disney, Golden Books) and in stores, but alas! have found naught.
Coloring books these days are dumb. Srsly.
Anyway, happy Thursday to you all! As you may have remembered from earlier in the week, today is my Friday at work this week and I’m rather excited about that!
Let me show you how I like to start my Thursday mornings….

A kiss for Auntie Jammy!

Tickle time for my nephew!
See how lucky I am? I love it when he says “Auntie Jammyyyyy….” like I’m in trouble for something. It’s so great!
On the menu today:
Corned beef hash, home fries, eggs, and toast!
That’s right, ladies and gentlemens! I stopped at my very favorite breakfast place, Bagels ‘N More, to get breakfast on the way to work this morning. Yum yum!
Wow. I’m ridiculous.
I’m currently trying to train myself to chew my food.
I know, I know.
It’s something my parent’s should have taught me. But for some reason I don’t know I’ve never liked chewing my food (source of half my stomach problems, anyone?). I mean… I chew a couple times, enough to make whatever is in my mouth pieces small enough to swallow, but I never sit there and chew. I just… actually chewing is such a foreign concept to me.
I remember one time watching an episode of Full House (during it’s original airing period) and Danny Tanner was instructing his children on how to chew properly. Like… they had to chew 20 times before they were allowed to swallow. I don’t know… I think Stephanie said she wasn’t going to chew 20 times and Danny told her she’d better or she was in trouble or something.
Sometimes I feel like I can relate to Danny Tanner with his superiorly anal cleaning tendencies, but not when it comes to this… this chewing food nonsense (FYI: Monica Geller is the female equivalent to Danny Tanner, only way cooler and prettier).
So what I want to know is, do you chew your food?
I know. I KNOW! I’m so. weird.
Jaime on food, traffic, and food.
I did not take a picture of myself today, so here. Have one from yesterday.

I was too lazy to do anything with my hair
It’s gross out today, weather wise. I wouldn’t mind except that I left all the windows at the house wide open. lolz. I’m not out in it so I really don’t care what it’s like out there. Weather is weather, you know? Why complain about something no one has any control over?
I brought a s’mores pop tarts to work today. Om nom nom.
There was zero traffic on the way to work today. Major improvement over yesterday.
I don’t get angry in traffic, because there’s really nothing I can do about it and getting angry over it is dumb. Especially when I’m just sitting there in my car. Expressing anger only to myself is lame. Instead I snicker and giggle at all the angry people around me. Especially the ones that are two inches from my back bumper, laying on the horn because there’s enough space for two cars in front of me. Excuse me sir, but it’s not wise to block an intersection! Do you get some kind of thrill out of blocking traffic on both sides? Jeez. At least I drive right. I often hope that other people will take cues from me and watch what they’re doing instead of being hasty and selfish with their driving ways, but I never really expect it. People are too stupid, I think. The driving ones, anyway.
I’m thinking about food (as usual). I’m going to order food, probably Chinese, but I’ll think about it a while longer before I actually do it.
I wish Chen’s delivered. I hate leaving work to pick up food. >.< New China Pavilion has a $15 minimum order for delivery, but there’s this new place I could try that only has a $10 minimum order requirement for delivery. I have an hour to think about it.
I can’t wait for my mom’s wedding on Friday. There’s going to be prime rib. It’s my favorite.
When Walter comes home I’m taking him to get the best prime rib in the universe. I can’t wait for that either.
I’m impatient. And hungry. I don’t even have anything to snack on here except sunflower seeds and those aren’t any bit filling. I’m not eating my s’mores pop tarts ’cause they’re for later.
I think about food a lot. Don’t judge me.
*****
I finished watching Dead Like Me last night. Now I’m going to start watching Doogie Howser, M.D.
That’s right. Don’t knock it!
I seriously haven’t seen Doogie Howser since like 1992. Let’s hope this isn’t a FAIL.
Lunch: it’s good.
Ah. Today is the first day this year that I’ve made and brought to work something for lunch that wasn’t a peanut butter and Fluff sandwich.
You know, as opposed to going out and buying food that’s already been prepared and taking it to work. Which I’m always doing. Sarah will be so proud of me.
I toiled in the kitchen to bring the following food items to work.

And it was grand.
