The Mall {NaBloPoMo 20}
I went to the mall yesterday! Huzzah for shopping!
I love shopping at Providence Place Mall. It feels like it’s mine so much more than the Crystal Mall does. I love the way it feels to walk in, like the possibilities are endless. It feels almost magical, really.
I may have started blogging this on a notepad outside Godiva and gotten caught by Christina as she and Scott were walking up to me (read: I totally did). She may have said “Are you blogging?” (read: first words out of her mouth).
I would like to share an observation with you. It appears that every time we go to the mall, Christina dresses up and I dress down. We must look like a weird pair. Yesterday I actually wore jeans though (I usually wear comfy pants with my large t-shirt). Christina? Always looks cute. Me? Most of the time I look like a hot mess. But ask me if I care. Go ahead.

I'm a hot mess in yesterday's everything!
I only spent money in three stores. And Ben & Jerry’s. I got two really cute hoodies at Aéropostale, a cute dress from NY & Co., and 5 books at Borders. I only spent about TWO hours at Borders. DO YOU KNOW HOW FANTASTIC THAT IS?!!! The only reason I left is because it was getting dark, and I was still carrying all my bags (I usually make a trip to my car to drop everything off before hitting up any bookstore). I didn’t buy ANY movies, and even bought a cute couple of necklaces at NY & Co. They were on sale. :D Plus I only had to pay $7 for parking! This was seriously a red letter shopping day. I didn’t spend half as much as I usually do on merchandise OR parking.
Then I got lost in Providence because the Cityside exit from the parking garage was closed off *FIST* and I had to exit Stateside. Gross! This makes the second time leaving Stateside ever. Third time total getting lost on the way home from the mall.
Let’s not get into that, though.
I would like to say, on my behalf, that for a girl with absolutely NO sense of direction…. I’ve done pretty OK thus far in life. *knock on wood*
How is everyone’s weekend going?
Did you do anything exciting yesterday?
Anything worth noting?
What’s going on today?
Skipping WW again.
No Wordless Wednesday today. Not that I’m feeling particularly chatty, I just don’t feel all that picture-y either.
Except for this picture of me, from this morning.

I’m sad that I didn’t see Harry Potter at the midnight showing, but I’m seeing it this weekend with my sisters and possibly my dad, so that should make up for it. But still. I feel like the world has something I don’t, at least until I see it.
I finished reading The Reader yesterday. It was better than good. It left me feeling sad, but not the depressed kind of sad, more like melancholic or bittersweet. Yeah, bittersweet. It is a beautifully tragic story and I fell in love with it. I really do recommend it to everyone.
I feel like I just have to write this morning, even though I’ve not got much to say. Like by the simple act of pushing things out there I’m still doing something somewhat productive.
I hate when I’m watching TV online and there are like twice as many commercial breaks as on regular TV, except they’re only 10-59 seconds long, so they may be short but they come in the middle of sentences and scenes not meant to have been interrupted. It irritates me.
I just started watching Dead Like Me. Anyone seen that show? I’ve only so far watched the first episode, but I like it. I was looking for something to watch now that I’m done with Legend Of The Seeker (which disgusted me, by the way). They have both seasons of DLM up on Hulu so I figured I’d give it a shot. It looks interesting enough.
It’s mid-week (I know, I am Captain Obvious). I hope it’s a good day today, but it’s far too early to tell just yet. I’m going to have some chocolate milk and then probably go lay down in bed for a while. Or play Farm Town. I haven’t decided yet.
It’s so sunny out, but I feel overcast.
I’m such an idiot. When I sent Walter’s package and forgot to put the book of stamps in it. >.<
AND I realized that I only have 42¢ stamps and no 2¢ stamps, so I had to put two 42¢ stamps on the envelope. Of stamps.
You can all clap now. Go ahead.
Anyway, it’s Tuesday. And I’m not very fond of Tuesdays, at least not as happy on Tuesdays as I am on Mondays. I feel so very blah today, I’m not upset but I’m not happy either. It’s like I could go either way. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had any ice cream since Sunday, but that’s probably not it.

I’m reading The Reader by Bernhard Schlink. I started it yesterday and I’ll finish it today. It’s very short, but it’s good. I saw the movie in theaters some months ago and wanted to immediately read the book, but as with everything I do I’m slow at getting there.
There’s also this trilogy of books by Nora Roberts that my mom has been bugging me to read. Well now I’m ready to read them (read: my personal supply of brand new unread books is dwindling) and she can’t find them! What a butt.
I feel like doing something this weekend. Anyone got any ideas?
(you don’t have to suggest seeing Harry Potter because I’ll be doing that already)
Eff that I said!
My new favorite thing to do (this week) is put my dailybooth pictures in my blog.

What I REALLY need is a dailybooth feed plugin so that they’re automatically there. I’m not really a big fan of Flickr, I’m more of a photobucket girl.
And speaking of photobucket, I need to make a new account. The one I’ve had is at least 4 years old, probably closer to 5, and… the username I use… really isn’t appropriate anymore. lolz
So how’s everyone doing today? I’m fabulous, for sure. I got to talk to Walter this morning. RIGHT AFTER I posted on FB that I missed him, his call came in. I was -seriously- squealing and giggling like a 6 year old at a theme park hyped up on cotton candy and chocolate covered coffee beans.
What.

So yeah! I’m feeling good! I was feeling good before Walter called, but now I’m feeling freaking awesome! I was totally going to blog about something earlier, but now in my extremely giddy state I seem to have forgotten what it was. It might have had something to do with Dr. Quinn, but I’m only slightly leaning that way. Sarah and I watched it last night after we watched the new episode of Secret Life.
Does anyone here watch Secret Life Of The American Teenager? Man. That show is good. It’s really emotional, but in a ridiculous way, and not ridiculous as in funny either. I hate having to wait a week to see the next episode. I think TV is dumb like that. Commercials and waiting a week for more? D.U.M.B.

I’m reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin for the first time. I would just like to say that I am in love with Mr. Darcy.
Has anyone noticed that every time I read a new book I’m in love with a new fictional character? Anyone? Bueller?
![]()
Well, not with EVERY book. But with a lot of books. Does that mean I’m fiction-boy-crazy? No? Is that lame? Yes.
Today is Walter’s brother Jonathan’s birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONATHAN! I was going to make him a birthday card, but I slacked and now it is too late. I shall simply call him later when I’m sure he isn’t working to wish him a happy birthday and hope that he’s forgotten about the card I told him I’d make him a month ago when I was in MS…
Don’t judge me.
Oh geez.
I miss Walter.
There has been a lot of comment spam sneaking it’s sneaky way through my spam filter lately. I get all excited because I have 10 new comments instead of 3, only to find that the extra 7 are spam. And it makes me sad. Stupid spam.
I have a few new books, but I don’t really feel like reading them. I’m too sad about not having any more Harry Potter books left. I really love the Harry Potter universe and I’m kind of stuck there for the time being. So while I do have books on my bookshelf that I haven’t read yet, I just don’t feel like reading anything new. In fact, I might read The Deathly Hallows again, because it was that good and I want to make sure I didn’t miss anything. You know, since I was dead tired when I forced myself to stay up until 3:30am to finish the book.
I don’t have any pictures to insert into this blog to make it pretty.
Aside from Dr. Quinn, I’ve been watching Legend Of The Seeker on Hulu. Has anyone seen that show? Has anyone read the book it’s based off of (Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind)? It’s not a bad show, but it’s nothing like the book. There’s too much extra stuff in the show that’s just WRONG. If you’ve read the books and haven’t seen the show, I don’t recommend that you watch it. Ever. If you’ve never read the books but you’re looking for something to watch, go ahead. It’s entertaining.
OK, so Mike just told me to blog about babies. lolz. I don’t know what to say about them except that I WANT ONE. I love babies. I want to get married and have babies.
And lastly, in this blog of random crap you’re being fed today, I need to announce that today I listened to something other than Wizard Rock for the first time in about a month.
PS - I love cheese.
Weekend Recap
My weekend activities consisted of the following:
- playing WoW
- finishing Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
- watching Dr. Quinn with Sarah
- dinner at my mom’s
- eating ice cream (surprised? :D)
- hanging out with Alli
- my nephew being sick
And you know what? The sun came out today. It’s out. Google says SHOWERS ALL DAY! but the sky is saying something very different and I like it (not Google lying, the sun actually coming out). It’s about 76°, sunny and humid and I’m loving it!
Even though it’s business casual at work today.

So yeah. I played WoW for most of the day on Saturday. I got from level 14 to level 20 (go me!). Poor John was sick all day, feverish and throwing up. Sarah couldn’t get her computer to connect to the Interwebz so she couldn’t play WoW for most of the day. But she eventually figured it out. And John was feeling much better by Sunday morning.
Sarah and I have been watching my Dr. Quinn DVDs, and as we watch I’m remembering parts of every episode. It’s fun. There are episodes in the later seasons that I haven’t seen, so I can’t wait to watch those either.
All-in-all I like how Harry Potter ended. It was a marvelous ending to an incredible story. I stayed up until 3:30 in the morning Saturday night to finish it, and I must say that I cried about Fred Weasley. I actually cried twice reading the last book. There was probably at least one point in each of the last three books that I cried. I’m in love with the series. Every book. I’m sad it’s over, but it ended perfectly. I can’t wait for Half-Blood Prince to come out in theatres.
And this morning I got to talk to Walter! So I’m smiling.

How was your weekend? I hope today starts your work week off in a good way (I’m so weird, I love Mondays)!
Tut-tut! It looks like rain!
I really want to keep reading Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, but the next chapter is 30 pages long and between phone calls I won’t be able to finish the chapter before I go home. So I’ve put it down for the night. *le sigh*
It looks like rain tomorrow. It looks like rain for the next four days in the forecast. That’s not so bad, it’s only rain. The only pain is that I have tomorrow off and we’ll be going to my brother’s graduation in the rain.

Maybe the rain will at least motivate me to do the laundry I should have done before I went to Mississippi last week (oops). I mean, if it’s nice out I definitely won’t want to stay inside and do laundry, will I? No. Prolly not.
It’s awfully cold out for mid-June. Anyone else agree with me? Is it just me?
I can’t get my mind off Harry Potter. This book has got me all worked up. Sometimes I don’t know how Rowling does it; she makes so much go wrong but by the end of the book things are alright again. I just don’t see how more than half this stuff can get resolved in the next hundred pages, I really don’t. But I know it will. SHEESH.
I love the Weasley twins, Fred and George. They’re brilliant.

That’s all.
I LOVE…Fridays

I LOVE… that it’s Friday once again.
I LOVE… that next week I’m going to Mississippi to see Walter again, a year sooner than I thought I’d be seeing him. SQUEEEE!!!
I LOVE… the scarf I’ve been working on. I didn’t think I’d like it when I bought the yarn on clearance but it’s coming out so nice and I’m considering keeping it for myself (I wasn’t making it for anyone in particular, just making it for s-n-g).
I LOVE… Yankee Candle’s MACINTOSH scent. I bought a large jar last weekend and I’m addicted to it. My room smells like apples.
I LOVE… the picture I made for yesterday’s blog. I effing love it. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re MISSING OUT!!
I LOVE… that I’m proud of my weirdness.
I LOVE… that all I have planned for the weekend is attending a family birthday party on Sunday and watching a whole lot of TV on my computer.
I LOVE… living with Sarah and John, even though John tests my patients to new limits every other day.
I LOVE… having a credit card.
I LOVE… really getting into a series of books. I’m loving the Harry Potter books. LOVING them.
I LOVE… Wizard Rock. THANK YOU PHAM!!!! Ministry of Magic is so awesome! I want to write Wizard Rock songs. lolz. I’ve been listening to them all morning!
I LOVE… watching trailers for HP and the Half-Blood Prince. I’m so excited for July!!!!
I swear I’m not a pervert!
Two Harry Potter books down, five to go!
I pretty much read them each in a day so far. Four, five, six, and seven look like heavier reading material, but I’m feeling up to the challenge.
Man, I love me some Harry Potter!
Almost as much as I love Edward Cullen. *swoon*
I said ALMOST!
I swear, I’m not a pervert. >.<

Anyhow, I love reading. I love it so hard!
I feel good. Can you tell? lolz It’s Thursday, the day before Friday, and I’m excited about the weekend. RAWR!
I have no real plans. I’m totally going to spend all my time watching Doogie Howser and Legend Of the Seeker on Hulu, and probably doing laundry like I do on the weekends. And knitting.
It’s how I roll.
I LOVE…Fridays

I LOVE… drinking chocolate milk first thing in the morning. Mmmmm breakfast.
I LOVE… wearing Walter’s BDU jacket, and also the fact that I’ve had his BDUs for four years now. GO ME!
I LOVE… Walter. What?!! If I don’t say it regularly I think I’ll explode!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE… the excitement of getting to the end of a book, and also the separation anxiety I get when it’s over and I have to put it down. I’m so weird.
I LOVE… grocery shopping. I love the certainty of knowing what I need and then going in and getting it. Hell, I just love shopping altogether. If I’m spending money in a store, I’m probably loving every second of it.
I LOVE… make-your-own-salads at Stop & Shop. I suppose I could just call it the salad bar, but whatever. I love the salads I make there. I make such good salads.
I LOVE… sunny days and weather over 70° (which does not describe today at all, but whatever).
I LOVE… watching old TV shows like I Love Lucy and The Cosby Show.
I LOVE… books. And bookstores. And nice bookshelves. I want to build bookshelves, sturdy ones, and have a library of books in my house! I’m going to buy books this weekend. It’s going to be great (see note above about spending money). :D
