late night random blog
It’s late on a Saturday night and I’m up staring at Twitter because @writetowreach is amusing
Also I am thinking. I’m thinking about two things:
- I can’t wait for my new blog page to get set up. I’m v excited and working on a new layout that will feel like home to me, but it’s kind of hard to decide what I like when I like so much. (All y’all know how I am about changing my layout every five minutes, right?)
- I want so very badly to be on a YouTube collab channel. I’ve wanted to be on one ever since I found vlogbrothers and 5 Awesome Girls. But I think I am too lame and boring seeing as how I rarely even ever blog anymore.
Those are what I’m thinking about.
I should probably be going to bed, but it’s not like I have anything to do in the morning. Except make breakfast. But I can do that at any time.
Breakfast all day sounds good to me!
On my list of Things To Get As Soon As I Get A House is a coffee maker. I miss coffee.
This Machine Pwns n00bs, VidCon2010, and my Google Reader is definitely working against me
TEN DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! I only have one more present to buy, this is the first year I’ve been so prepared!!!!
Also, I’m drooling over the new holiday design that I made this morning.
I spent a large amount of time yesterday watching Hank Green’s song videos. I don’t say music videos, because not all of them are just music. Some are songs incorporated into his vlogs. But here’s my current favorite Hank Green song:
When I heard this song, it was love immediately for me. LOVE. I love this album (This Machine Pwns n00bs) so much, I want to hoard it away and listen to it alone in my room (but not in a creepy way).
Maybe partially because Walter said Song About An Anglerfish sounded stupid when he looked up the lyrics. Maybe.
But this album is 100% AWESOME.
Hank and John are like 80% of why I want to go to VidCon2010 in July.
On a completely related note, is anyone going to VidCon2010? Because if I can go (still have to talk to Walter about it) I’ll need a room mate to split the cost, and I have severe issues with traveling alone and need a travel buddy….
I was totally supposed to be reading the blogs in my Google Reader because there were just so many blogs to read, but I got side tracked listening to This Machine Pwns n00bs and subsequently watching Hank’s videos.

three days worth of blogs
When I finally got around to it there were 164 blogs waiting for me. PLUS FOUR. It is so hard to catch up on blogs when people are constantly posting new ones. But when I went to bed last night there were only 23 unread blogs. WIN! Considering that I’m subscribed to 124 blogs, I really shouldn’t go more than a day avoiding my reader.
I thought once I got laid off I’d have more time to do things like read blogs and watch YouTube videos. But no. Now I spend ALL my time playing Facebook games and Heroes of Gaia. It’s pretty disgusting. I swear I’ve gained ten pounds in the last week.
And now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some YouTube videos to catch up on before I get sucked into one game or another. At least there aren’t 160 of those!
Do you like my Christmas theme?
How many blogs are you subscribed to?
Are you a bad traveler? Do you prefer to travel alone or with a buddy?
Writing Every Day {NaBloPoMo 2}
As I mentioned yesterday I am participating in NaBloPoMo this month (which is on my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days).
September’s theme is ‘Beautiful’. You don’t have to write about the theme, it’s optional, but I’m sure I’ll incorporate it into a few blogs this month.

All my life I’ve tended to shy away from committing to long term things. Even simple things like coloring intricate pictures, drawing things that require more than one sit-down, etc. Not relationships with people, I have no problems committing to those (lolz @ me, right?), but I have a natural aversion to committing to things I’m supposed to remember to do on my own. I’m one of those people who will give up if one little thing goes wrong. But I have to break that cycle, right? Besides, I write every day anyway. I just don’t BLOG every day. I’ll have to blog on the weekends now, which I normally don’t do, but I’m pretty sure I can handle it. :]

What do you think of my new layout? I made the header yesterday at work, and I think this theme seems a lot more me. I’ve been trying to come up with a way to incorporate stick figures into my theme since we first started the PQ Nation a year ago and I also just figured out how to use the scanner all on my own (go me!) so I scanned a couple of doodles I made yesterday and this one is my favorite.
Thursay-Schmurzday, that’s what I say!
It’s not really. I’m pretty sure I’ve never said “Thursday-Schmurzday” ever in my life.
I apologize for the blip in yesterday’s entertainment, but we are now back to your regularly scheduled non-emo programming!
Speaking of programming, I’m excited for fall TV shows coming back.
- Castle (Sept 21st)
- Heroes (Sept 21st)
- Lie To Me (Aug 31st)
- Lost (the final season actually starts early in 2010)
- House (Sept 21st)
- Grey’s Anatomy (Sept 24th)
And for new shows I can’t wait to sink my teeth into!
- Community (NBC, Sept 17th)
- Glee (Fox, Sept 16th)
- FlashForward (ABC, Sept. 24th)
- Accidentally On Purpose (CBS, Sept. 21st)
Secret Life of the American Teenager is already halfway into the second season (yay!). That show is so awesome, I get so frustrated with the characters and have to remind myself that they’re in high school and that’s why they dumb. Also I have NO idea what’s going on with Samantha Who? yet as there’s nothing on ABC about it. Eli Stone is over, but I love the way it ended. Sadly, The Unusuals has had it’s run and isn’t being picked back up. I might start watching Greek since they have all the episodes up on Hulu, and Sarah loves it, we’ll see. That’s a lot to watch before the season premiere.
Enough talk about TV (WHAT?!!). I don’t even have cable (which is probably good since I’d never leave the house) so I watch all my shows on the Interwebz.
I’m thinking of changing up my blog layout. Again. I loved this one at first but Walter is right: it’s just not me. I have a really hard time trying to figure out what me is in website form, but I’m not going to stop trying until I figure it out. It’s got to incorporate nerdiness, to proudly showcase my massive nerd personality. We’ll see how that goes.
I just made Tori’s layout over the weekend (she’s new to the PQ Nation, so go say hello!), and I’m working on one for Pecosa right now. Other people know what they want their layout to convey. Is it weird that I don’t? Is that related somehow to how I never know what I want from life? Am I being too deep here about my blog layout? :D
WAIT! I have exciting news!!! I fell in love this week. Have you played Restaurant City on Facebook? NO DON’T JUDGE ME! I’M SERIOUS! I know I’ve been playing Facebook games up the wazoo since I joined but this one is seriously awesome. Way more awesome than Dragon Wars, Vampire Wars, Mafia Wars, Lil Green Patch, Heroes vs. Villains, Spy Wars, Robin Hood, Be A Tycoon, FarmVille, Farm Town, YoVille, and School Of Magic PUT TOGETHER.
I don’t think I’m feeling quite right yet, but all those comments yesterday really helped me feel better and see things a wee bit clearer. Tomorrow I should be good as new! Or, not new, ever. Good as ever! Besides, it’s hard to be sad about anything for long when I remember that Walter will be here for two weeks in only one short month.
Look at this picture of Walter and Benny and I from my first trip to Mississippi in 2006. It is the only picture of the three of us that I have, which is sad because it’s not even a good one.

Plz do not make fun of my lack of boobs or my bug-eye glasses.
Actually plz make fun.
What shows are you watching right now? Are you looking forward to old favorites and new shows this fall?
Do you play any Facebook games? Why or why not?

I LOVE… that my nephew hugged me so much this morning because I’m leaving for the weekend and he’s going to miss me. I’m going to miss him too, but I’m definitely bringing him back something good.
This is me this morning. It is far too early for me to be talking to customers, I hope I don’t say anything dumb(er than usual).

What do YOU love today?
*grunt*

Stuffy says hi.
I spent about an hour last night in an anxious fit about my financial situation, and not just right now either, but also the coming year or so. You see, I’m going to be getting laid off later on this year, so anything that has to do with money is sort of a touchy subject for me at the moment. I love Courtni so much for taking the time not only to help me calm down, but also to help me figure out just what I’m going to do. In the middle of the night. Thank you Courtni!
But I still couldn’t sleep. I was wide awake.
Then I spent almost two hours on Target.com looking at home goods to put in my gift registry.
Then I started writing ideas down for this year’s NaNoWriMo novel.
Then I designed this new blog theme.
Then updated Courtni’s theme.
Debated whether or not I wanted to draw a picture for Walter, the debate being settled by the fact that I’m lazy and didn’t want to stand up to get my crayons.
I didn’t get much sleep.
Some things I hate:
- Tuesdays
- litter boxes
- pets that shed
- pretty much pets of any kind
- not being tired at night
- waking up late on a workday
- being late for life
- being too tired to function properly
I just woke up (most of this blog was written last night in preparation of my crummy mood!). It’s 2 hours later than I normally get out of bed. I’m running late for getting ready, and while I’ll make it to work on time I’ll feel rushed and panicked. There is no end. I hate you, Stress. I hate you, Anxiety. FML.
One happy thought: I made reservations for Lauren and I for next weekend. The NYC meetup is going to rock! Only 10 more days and we’ll be hanging out with the likes of Katie Dot Com, Phampants, Maxie, and DCPrincess. And lots more people that I don’t know.
