Happy M-F-ing FRIDAY!

I only have ONE open letter this week. Not because there aren’t any other assholes that need me to tell them that I stole their lube and shoved this rusty pipe up their asses dry and with fervor. Because I am really ____ about this sudden critic outrage and aim toward our President’s plan to talk about education with our kids.

We all know that I avoid political debate and discussion on my blog. Mainly because I am not an expert and I do not feel comfortable debating things that I am not 100% secure in my knowledge of.

But this issue is different for me. With that, I shall open letter.

Dear Ignorant Critics, Parents, and Anyone Else Applicable:

I have read several articles, sides, opinions and the plan of discussion that was made public to us as U.S. Citizens. For anyone to bash a person for being INVOLVED with our children’s motivation to take their education seriously is both asinine and ignorance at it’s finest. Many of us never had someone who was a positive influence … a ROLE model … sit down and help motivate us to look at education and the benefits of staying in school, trying our damnedest to be successful at whatever it is that we wanted to do AND understanding just how God damned important it is to take it seriously.

Many children still do not have this. Their parents are drug addicts. They are being beaten down by someone or something and do not have the energy nor the means to pay any attention to these kids’ futures. They are gang members. Some of these kids are being physically, sexually and emotionally abused. Many kids come from broken homes, where the parent in their lives desperately wants to be an active part, but with 2+ jobs and a struggling economy, they simply cannot.

How is this interest … this … DESIRE to actually give a shit about the future leaders of our Nation propaganda? How is it a motive to indoctrinate children with ’socialist ideology’? I am seriously asking here. I am confused as to how it is different than any other President’s or First Lady’s attempt to be active in the lives of our young people.

Furthermore, I cannot imagine why a parent would threaten to TAKE THEIR CHILD out of school to prove a point? Please clarify what point this actually proves. Is it 1) proving that you actually really don’t care about your kids education? Because having them miss a day of school over an hour of EDUCATION AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT discussions with our Nation’s Leader … doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Is it 2) that really, you did not / DO not want President Obama to actually BE our President? So supporting anything he says or does be it good, bad or indifferent … would be completely going against your beliefs?

Either way. Ignorant to the ignorantest level. Why? Because you are slighting your children. Why not offer an alternative for the kids that would not like to hear what the President has to say. ASK THEM what they want to do. And, if they are uninterested in hearing from their President, maybe their option is to write a paper discussing what education means to them. What do they plan on doing with their education? Why is important to stay in school? Because really … isn’t that the goal? Isn’t that what we need our kids to be doing? Staying in school? Going to college or military or apprenticeship or vocational training? Isn’t the reason why we are parents … to ensure that we provide the necessary tools for our kids to be the best at whatever it is that they want to do?

Well, kind Sir’s and Ma’am’s: Denying them the right to learn something … to be positively inspired … to possibly CHANGE the life of a less fortunate kid somewhere … is doing the complete opposite. I like to refer to this whole thing simply as “hating.” I say, stop hating. Knock it off. And, think about it. It’s all I am saying. I for one will make sure that, if my child is not allowed the opportunity to listen to our President speak, will be dismissing him from class to watch it with me at home and then returning him to school to finish out his day.

C.

Oh and one last thing. This is not about WHO the President is. It is about the MESSAGE that the President is attempting to spread. I would have the same reaction if any other President was slammed for doing something positive that directly affected my kids.

—————————————————————————————————————————-

Lastly, a Friday Eye Candy that is a direct request from Tarable. She wants to see some Anthony Kiedis.

My parents specifically. At Squish’s request.

This is an intro kinda to who they are in relationship to me and how we got here.

I am still pondering what specifically intrigues her about my parents … other than how freaking awesome they happen to be. Mostly anyway. I didn’t always think that they were though. In fact back in the day, I used to think that my parents were the strictest, dumbest people on the planet to ever live in the history of parents.

‘Used to’ being the key phrase.

My parents and I have an interesting relationship. I know now that when I don’t like something that they have to say… I <del datetime="2009-06-24T02:41:10+00:00">politely</del> with an attitude say good bye and hang up or leave. Usually when I dont like what I am hearing it is because they are telling me the truth. I am going to eventually want to hear the truth, but sometimes my dad chooses to shove it down my throat at the most inopportune fucking times sometimes. I love that with us, what you see is what you get. I don’t have to lie. I don’t have to pretend that everything is wonderful. If they want to drop by, I don’t feel like I need to rush around and make my house pristine. It might just be fucking messy. And if it is… they don’t judge me for it. My parents just kinda get it. And me. They get that I am pretty much not going to front about shit, and that, no matter what… I am always going to be me. I love that my parents have just accepted and embraced me for who I am… and not try to mold me into something that they think I should be.

Because of the above, I can say that I am blessed. And mean it. I know this because when I talk to other people about how they have to hide a part of themselves in order to please their parents … I have had to bite my tongue … because I am confused as to who in the hell these parents think they are for making their kids lives such turmoil that they can never really be themselves around them?

If you were to ask me who I am more like … my mom or my dad … I would have to say my dad. My dad and I didn’t really begin our relationship until I got back from boot camp. When I was little, I was all about some “daddy’s girl”. Even as a teenager, I knew that with just the right tone… I could pretty much get what I wanted. When it was good it was great. When it was bad though, ask anyone who was around us back then. It was bad.

I remember one time during one of our biggest fights, my dad and I were in each others faces. We were yelling. I am sure I told him to fuck himself. If I would have had the ability to step out of my body to see what I was doing, I probably would not have been in my dads face like that. With no fear. No capacity about how my father (have you ever seen my dad?) could have broken my little 16 year old ass in half if I said just the right (read: wrong) thing to set him off in that moment.

And believe me. I tried as hard as I could to make my dad the purplest piece in life as often as I could. Did I pick fights with him? Yep. I sure did. Why? I don’t know. Maybe it was because as much as I knew that he could knock me cold the hell out with one punch… he never would.

This also leads me to my next thought. The reason I never fought with my mom this way was because she would knock me out. And she did. It only took once. I don’t remember what I said, but it was something to the effect of calling her a “bitch” and/or “fuck you” during a disagreement. She hauled off and slapped the shit out of me.

I am pretty sure that the only time I ever cuss at my mom in an angry moment now is when we are on the phone. And even then. My mom has a mean left hook. I am not really trying to fuck with her.

So I am frustrated with this blog and I am going to end it here. Squish, if you are out there… I need some direction. What intrigues you? What do you want to know? I could go in so many ways… and because of that I am not even sure if this blog even makes sense.

Do you want to hear more about the parents? If so, what?
What kind of relationship do you have with your parents?

If you could pick celebrity parents, who would they be and why? (They dont have to be a couple)

I hate April Fool’s Day.

I don’t think practical jokes are funny. Anymore anyway.

When I was younger, I used to look for anything and every way to play practical jokes on my parents. I used to get a kick out of stressing them the fuck out. I swear I am the sole reason as to why my parents have grey hairs.

I remember one time, I decided that I would have my friends brother call my mom and pretend that he was a police officer. He proceeded to tell her that I had been involved in some illegal activity, and that he couldn’t go into details on the phone. He told her that he needed her to come down to the station.

I could hear my mom fucking yelling through the reciever. Then, my dad got on the phone.

“You tell her that she can sit her fucking ass in jail until she sees the judge. We will NOT be coming to pick her up.”

(I was literally rolling on the floor laughing at this point. If you have ever met my dad, when he gets mad, he *l i t e r a l l y* gets purple. So I could totally see his bugged out purple face.)

“Sir, I am going to need you to come down here so I can discuss the severity of the charges.”

(I am surprised that he could even keep a straight face while he listened to whatever it was that my dad had to say.)

“Mmmhm, I understand. Okay, that is fair. I will come to you. What is the address? See you soon.”

(Fuck.)

So we decide to go and reveal the joke in person. I swear it was gonna be less of a drama situation than that. Of course I was like 15… so what did I know about seeing things from all angles? We pull up, and there my dad is. Standing on the porch. Purple as fuck.

Obviously this was not planned correctly. Obviously he was not in a police car. He was in a Honda.

Imagine the walk of shame that I was on at this point.

“In jail, huh?” My dad asked.
“Uhhh. April Fools?” (it wasnt even April)
“Looks like the joke is on you. You are grounded.”

(Fuck.)

Turns out, my dad saw through my bullshit. He told my friends brother calmly to bring me home. And, when he walked his goofy ass up to the porch with me, my dad grabbed him by the throat and explained something to him that no one else heard and that he will probably never ever forget.

What I didn’t see was that my mom was a hot hysterical mess. And that shit wasn’t funny. Jokes like this almost always get taken too far. That is why I hate jokes. I made it very clear to everyone around me that I was not interested in any part of the April Fools Day pranks. I better not have anything taped or glued or missing off of my desk.

That is all I have to say about that.

Are you a prankster?
What is the best joke you have pulled off? Worst?
Do you fall for pranks easily???
Tell me one time someone got you really good.

Oh. And go wish PQ a Happy Birthday.

Lately I have noticed myself really pondering decisions that need to be made on my part. Things that I would have previously just done childishly, are now on the high road. That sucks. I dont want to always take the bigger person route. Sometimes, I want to be the irresponsible cunt and call a bitch on the carpet, even though I am fully aware of the fact that me making that choice wont do a bit of good.

Ugh. It chaps my ass that I am growing up sometimes. Or that I am grown up. Whatev. Boo.

What bugs me more than that are the people who should be grown up but are not even close. They still go and do selfishly. They still make decisions with no regard of those who are affected. (I dont mean those in the sense of the bitches whos asses need to be called to the carpet… but more the people who are affected by there decisions in their lives)

Just because I want to go to the bar every single night after work and every weekend and get hammered with my co-workers and friends, doesnt mean that I will. Why? Well for one, it is not healthy. But for two, because I have kids. And a husband. I enjoy spending time with them. Sober-like. The thing is, when you cross the line over into responsibility…(i.e. job, kids, spouse… etc) you have to own it. Dont do both. It is unfair to the responsibilities that you have to neglect them for selfish reasons.

Don’t get me wrong, if you are selfish some of the time for good reason… that is only healthy. I am ranting about the people who pawn their kids off as much as possible, or they sign their rights away and run off to another state because they “just cant deal with it”. I am referring to multiple DUI recievers who just cannot give someone their keys, and take other peoples lives into their own hands with little regard. I am even referring to the women with revolving doors of men in front of their kids; setting the example that it is perfectly ok to spread your legs for any Tom, Dick and Harry out there.

If you are reading, and this strikes a cord with you… and, you are possibly offended, first click the back button and scroll down to read my “if thine eye offends thee, pluck it out” and then come back and re-read.

1) I dont give a flying fuck if I offend you.

2) You may need to take this blog and figure out how to be more responsible. Your irresponsibility and my offending you because of it is not my motherfucking problem.

3) Make some changes in your life. Start putting your responsibilities first, or at least think about the choices you make before you make the decision.

In conclusion, fuck you for being a cunt. <– This is a message for specific someones in my life that I am not going to start drama with. If you think it is about you, well maybe you should stop being a dumb guilty cunt and act right for a change. Do the right thing.

Do you have irresponsible people in your life?

Wanna leave them a message about themselves?

Have you ever made irresponsible decisions that you now regret? How did you make it right?
