I just watched the navy get their ass beat on a technicality. Dan's command got an email yesterday AM. They called him in on it. Apparently he was supposed to be Administratively Seperated in August. No later than the 14th. He was supposed to be told about this detail in June or July. SUPPOSED TO being the key words there. Had he gone through Admin Sep on, or prior to, August 14th, it would have been just short of 9 years of service. SOMEONE either intentionally, or unintentionally, mishandled the paperwork, so it never got done. August 15th, he reached 9 years of service. Shortly after that, his master chief pushed him to apply for a medical discharge with the Medical Board. We found out yesterday, after talking to the VA and the Med Board people at Bremerton, that someone's error just saved his ass. Had someone completed the Admin Sep prior to his applying with MedBoard, they would have tossed him out on his ass today with nothing to show for it. Fortunately for him, since he's is involved with Med Board now, Med Board overrides the Admin Sep. And also, since he's past the 9 year mark, if he is found more than 30% disabled according to Navy standards (which, according to VA, he exceeds) he is entitled to full medical and dental benifits for himself and his dependents (the baby) AND a retirement check. Had the paperwork been completed on the Admin Sep....he would have gotten NOTHING. Talk about fucking KARMA for his command being a bunch of royal douchebags. Denying him time for doctors appointments, giving him grief every time he has to be at the hospital, being dicks every time he has to do something involving the VA....Denying him paternity leave and time to go to baby visits. Fuck them all. HAmuthafuckingHAHAHA!

The only good thing his command has done, aside from losing that paperwork, is giving him till Sunday to call in his leave chit since they're screwing him out of paternity leave.

I have my LAST appointment with the midwives tomorrow <3 Our baby will for sure be here some time this weekend....between Friday morning and Sunday....depending on how long I'm in labor and how many times I get bumped or rescheduled. I can't wait to have my friggen body back!

Today I realized that it's important to do what you love. Maybe not as your primary job, if that's how the cards are dealt...but still DO it somehow.

A friend died recently. He did what he loved every single day. I don't remember him bitching about his job....because he would never have done a job that he didn't like. End of story. What I will remember is his infectious smile, his generous spirit and his passion. He had a life he fully loved.

My quote of the day is from him, sadly I had to read it in a newspaper instead of hearing it from him. After he struggled through physical rehab last year, he was quoted as saying "“It takes me more time now, but I still orchestrate the room.”

My Lady Wicked, what would you do (to fulfill what you love), if you won the lottery? Let's say 2 million dollars. Not pay the bills or put your kids thru college. What would you do specifically for your passion?

Truth.

Me neither. Hence the question.
